What a tremendous first year of events that RoC was able to host and take part in. From fundraising family runs to educational events such as Realm on the Rocs, it was a year to remember. Thank you to everyone that participated or supported the Realm of Caring.
Lucky Day 5K- March
Realm of Caring’s first big fundraising event was held this past March at Roxborough Community Park in Littleton, Colorado. The Lucky Day 5K was the vision of Tommy Carpenter a (then) senior at Thunder Ridge High School. All seniors are required to complete a senior project and he decided that he wanted his senior project to benefit RoC. Tommy and a handful of volunteers worked together to make this event a success. Along with raising awareness, this event raised almost $20,000.
Realm of Caring Inaugural Golf Outing in conjunction with Face of Cannabis- August
The golf outing was a new adventure for the team that put it together. The event brought in over $16,000 that was raised by the golfers, event sponsors and the Face of Cannabis hole sponsors. The funds were used to help several Realm of Caring client families with family assistance grants along with covering expenses for the Realm on the Rocs educational event. There were some hurdles to overcome but in the end the Inaugural Golf Outing was a lot of fun and a success.
Run for the Realm 5K National Family Walk and Run- September
The Run for the Realm 5K would not have been possible without the support team from MGA Home Healthcare. The help from and vision from the MGA team helped to create the foundation for what RoC hopes will be an annual family favorite. There was something for everyone, including pre-race yoga, face painting, a balloon release and wonderful vendors. The 250+ registrants and sponsors made the $14,000 that was acquired, possible.
Thank you to our event sponsors and vendors:
MGA Home Healthcare, Marqaha, Arapahoe Sign Arts, Premier Real Estate Group, Natura Naturals, Chris Tetzeli, Dave Blazis, Nicole Montanez, the Johnson family, the Oliver family, the Brown family, the Mattison Family, the Lightle family, The Lyles family, the Figi family, the Afeef family, the Bundukamara family, Stanley Brothers Social Enterprises, Plexus- Kristi Fontenot, Frostbites, Jill Tullman and Associates, Amerita Home Infusion, Cyberonics, Whole Foods, Sports Authority, the Petrocco Family.

In the Works: Third-party Fundraising
There are plans to team up with several companies that want to show their support for RoC. Once the details have been finalized, the ‘Get Involved’ section on theroc.us and therocstore.us will be updated to include info about which companies are working with the Realm of Caring.
Along with the clients, Realm of Caring’s success is attributed to the volunteers. Without the many wonderful people that have been willing to step up and help out by answering the phones and emails, setting up events, leading support groups etc. RoC would not be where we are in such a short period of time. In an effort to help relieve some of the workload that current volunteers have taken on, an ambassador volunteer program is being created. Please check the ‘Get Involved’ page at theroc.us and learn more about the program and ways to volunteer once it is updated.
The Realm Cares Program
Families that have a member with a life-altering diagnosis often face huge medical expenses. These mounting medical bills along with time away from work and typical daily expenditures can put a family into a financial tailspin. When unexpected financial issues arise, the Realm of Caring wants to be able to step in and lend a financial hand. With the rise in clients it is now necessary to have a proper assistance program in place that donors and clients can take part in. RoC has one in the works and look forward to implementing it in early 2015.
Thank you to each one of our volunteers, you make RoC great.
Year End Financials
The Realm of Caring plans to include the year end financial info on the website. It will be added by early 2015.
